LanzaTech has announced its DRAGON II project will be known as DRAGON Humber going forward in recognition of the chosen site location at the Saltend Chemical Park adjacent to the Humber estuary. 

LanzaTech has also announced it will now not produce ethanol on the site from CO2 and green hydrogen as originally planned. Instead, all of the ethanol feedstock that will be required to make SAF will be imported. The decision was made after discussions with Government that declined to amend detailed rules concerning hydrogen that must be used for SAF production. This made it commercially unviable to produce the ethanol feedstock for an acceptable price in the UK. Instead of producing ethanol on the southern plot within the Saltend Chemical Park LanzaTech now intends to locate the hydrogen production needed to make the SAF here. 

LanzaTech has also increased the areas of land it will lease at Saltend to include a small area at the southern end of the Chemical Park close to the jetty for ethanol and SAF storage tanks.
